Margarita Chli is a professor at UCY in Robotic Vision and director of the Vision for Robotics Lab, at ETH Zurich and UCY.
Having won prestigious funding competitions such as the ERC Consolidator Grant (2023) and the Swiss National Foundation Professorship (2015), Margarita has been leading the V4RL team to achieve some world firsts as mentioned here In addition to participation in national and international research projects, the V4RL team has been fostering direct collaborations with the industry, funding this research such as with Unity Lab, Huawei, SBB (Swiss Railway), Hilti, and Armasuisse (Swiss Department of Civil Protection), and Amazon, having won 2 Amazon Research Awards.
Margarita has been listed in Robohub’s 25 women in Robotics you need to know about in 2016, while in 2017, she got awarded the biannual Zonta Prize honoring outstanding women in science. She regularly gives talks at top venues, both to scientific and broader audiences, such as a keynote talk at ICRA, as well at TEDx, and the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
